SolarWinds Backup Tips and Tricks

I’m using SolarWinds backup at a client site. A few notes:

When specifying the username of a remote share, even if it is a non-Windows NAS device, you must specify the device name, e.g. MY-NAS\BackupUser.

On the computer being backed up, open Backup Manager by browsing to http://localhost:5000.

To view the logs, browse to http://localhost:5000/logs/app.

In the Backup Manager, to see the Device SID and the Machine name, click on Backup & Recovery and view the popup:

SolarWinds Backup 1

The Device SID corresponds to the folder name in the local SpeedVault folder. The size of that SpeedVault folder should correspond to the Used storage figure in the Backup Manager.
