If you’ve configured your Telnyx numbers to use IP authentication (as opposed to registration), and you need to change your IP address (e.g. because you purchased a static IP), here are the places to update that in the Telnyx dashboard.
SIP Connections > choose connection > edit IP address
Note: you can also add the new IP, but that’s probably not necessary if the old IP is going away.
Numbers > choose number > Routing > Primary IP
The Primary IP dropdown should let you choose from the list of SIP Connections. If you ovewrote the IP in the previous step, this should already show your previous IP.
Check and update this for all of your numbers. When you’re done, if you added the new IP in the previous step, go back to SIP Connections and delete the old IP (use the trash can icon). If you get a message that it is still in use, make sure the old IP is no longer linked to any of your numbers.
Allowed IPs > IP Addresses Not strictly necessary for IP authentication, but if you have this set, update it with the new IP.
The main benefit of IP authentication is that you can restrict your firewall to only allow SIP and RDP traffic from the Telnyx IP addresses. As long as your firewall accepts your new public IP, there should be no changes needed in the firewall rules.
